Smoke Protection

In the majority of fires it is the smoke that is the danger to life. And therefore an effective smoke protection solution should be integral to any engineered fire and smoke protection solution. Modern construction materials are not easily flammable nor do they readily spread flame. Once ignited however, the smoke can be pungent, heavy and life threatening. Additionally the spread of smoke throughout a building like a shopping mall easily spreads panic amongst members of the public.

Smoke curtains provide an unobtrusive and effective way of containing and channelling smoke. By providing an increased smoke layer depth BLE smoke curtains are effective at keeping smoke hot and therefore at height, a simple yet effective smoke protection solution. Similarly the curtains can be arranged to channel the smoke to an effective smoke extraction system.

BLE smoke curtains are also used to seal areas off effectively preventing the spread of smoke between compartments.
